- Introductions
- "Your Life Today" exercise.
- Who needs a planner and why?
- Why planners have not worked for some and how to avoid that mistake.
- Introduction of "left to right" living concept. (Panel One: Scripture, Inspiration, Ideas & Suggestions. Panel Two: Praise, forgiveness, and prayer journaling. Panel Three: Seeking God's direction and priority for the day. Panel Four: Managing your daily schedule, being a productive steward of time.).
- Distribution of planners (online or paper).
Session 2:
- Review of previous session.
- Selection of accountability partners and explanation of this process.
- Why discipleship is important and what it means to Christians.
- Characteristics of a disciple.
- How the ALWL planner can further you as a disciple of Jesus.
Session 3:
- Review of previous session.
- Why daily discipleship is difficult.
- Identification of "time stealers". Time stealer exercise.
- Discussion on how to eliminate daily barriers that "steal" our time.
Session 4:
- Review of previous session.
- Importance of reading God's word daily. (God's word is seed, bread, and is alive. God will speak to you through His word. Defense against getting mislead.)
Session 5:
- Review of previous session.
- Power of daily prayer.
- Incorporating prayer into your daily life. Practicing the presence of God.
- Video on power of prayer.
- Prayer is essential to being an effective disciple of Jesus.
Session 6:
- Review of previous session.
- Why is Praise important?
- Praise exercise.
- How using the A Life Well Lived day planner to focus on praise can enrich your life.
- Testimony of Bill Campbell and/or other A Life Well Lived day planner users.
Session 7:
- Review of previous session.
- Planning. What does God want me to do with my life?
- How do I make sure I don't miss out on God's plan.
- Examples of God's planning.
- How do I fullfill God's plan? (Interactive exercise)
- How the A Life Well Lived day planner is intended to be used as a tool to help you find God's plan.
Session 8:
- Review of previous session.
- Why goal setting is critical to fulfilling God's plan for your life.
- Why goal setting is a part of Christian discipleship.
- Determining what you want vs. what God wants.
Session 9:
- Review of previous session.
- 7 "Life Areas" and what they mean to you.
- Exercise on where you are now in each of the 7 categories (1-10 scale on happiness).
- How can your life become fulfilling and Christ like by clarification of the 7 "Life Areas"?
Session 10:
- Review of previous session.
- Introduction to "Goal Setting" worksheet.
- Setting SMART goals in each of the 7 "Life Areas".
- How to set priorities in each of the 7 "Life Areas".
- Challenge to each participant to set SMART goals to be discussed at the next session.
Session 11:
- Review of previous session.
- Importance of "Goal Setting" process (desire & passion, strength & weaknesses, commitment & costs, and how goal achievement will improve your life).
- Moving goals to action.
Session 12:
- Proclamation of goals and action steps by group members.
- How to hold one another accountable long term.
- How to share the use of the A Life Well Lived day planning tool with others.
- Feedback on course.
- Celebration!
